  1. Start as a Delta Air Lines Employee

    Be a current Delta employee and hold your private pilot certificate.

  2. Earn Pilot Certificates & Ratings

    Enroll in ATP Flight School's Airline Career Pilot Program and earn an FAA commercial multi-engine pilot certificate and instrument rating.

  3. Flight Instructor Job

    Build experience as an ATP flight instructor after graduating to qualify for airline hiring minimums.

  4. Delta Connection Pilot

    Fly as an airline pilot for a Delta Connection regional airline carrier.

  5. Delta Air Lines Pilot

    Return to Delta to begin your career as a Delta Air Lines pilot.

  1. Step 1

    Start as a Delta Air Lines Employee

    To participate in the Delta Propel program, you must be a current Delta employee in good standing and hold a private pilot certificate.

  2. Step 2

    Earn Pilot Certificates & Ratings

    Start pilot training at ATP Flight School, where you will earn an FAA commercial multi-engine pilot certificate, instrument rating, and flight instructor certificates. ATP is the most efficient and proven way to earn the certification you need to become an airline pilot, which will take you just nine months.

  3. Step 3

    Build Experience as a Flight Instructor

    Earn 1,500 hours of flight experience as an instructor with ATP. Successful students can instruct with ATP, at any number of locations nationwide.

  4. Step 4

    Start Flying as an Airline Pilot

    Once you reach 1,500 hours of flight time, you’ll be ready to start flying as a first officer for a Delta Connection regional airline.

  5. Step 5

    Return to Delta Air Lines as a Pilot

    After gaining experience as a regional airline pilot, you'll return to Delta to begin your career as a Delta Air Lines pilot.

Prerequisites

To participate in the Delta Propel program, applicants must be a current employee with Delta, in good standing, and meet the following requirements:

  • Completion of 2 years (24 months) as an active Delta Air Lines employee
  • Graduate of a four-year degree program from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Dept. of Education recognized accrediting organization
  • Possess an FAA Private Pilot Certificate (Fixed Wing), not to exceed a Private Pilot Certificate (Single Engine-Fixed Wing)
  • Logged 100 hours of total flight time in a fixed wing powered aircraft
  • Current Flight Review
  • Meet additional pilot requirements outlined on the Deltanet Propel page
