The steps ATP Instructors and Delta employees take to become a pilot for Delta and participate in the Delta Propel Program.

  1. Earn Pilot Certificates & Ratings

    Enroll in ATP Flight School's Airline Career Pilot Program and join the Propel Talent Community while earning an FAA commercial multi-engine pilot certificate and instrument rating.

  2. Flight Instructor Job

    Build experience as an ATP flight instructor after graduating to qualify for airline hiring minimums.

  3. Delta Propel Interview

    Within 12 months of reaching airline hiring minimums, apply to Propel via the Endeavor Air First Officer position.

  4. Delta Connection Pilot

    Fly as an airline pilot for Endeavor Air.

  5. Delta Air Lines Pilot

  1. Step 1

    Earn Pilot Certificates & Ratings

    Start pilot training at ATP Flight School, where you will earn an FAA commercial multi-engine pilot certificate, instrument rating, and flight instructor certificates. ATP is the most efficient and proven way to earn the certification you need to become an airline pilot, which will take you just nine months.

  2. Step 2

    Build Experience as a Flight Instructor

    Join ATP as a flight instructor after graduating and build flight experience to qualify for airline hiring minimums.

  3. Step 3

    Delta Propel Interview

    Within 12 months of airline hiring minimums, recommended instructors interview to join Propel.

  4. Step 4

    Start Flying as an Airline Pilot

    Once you reach 1,500 hours of flight time, you’ll be ready to start flying as a first officer for Endeavor Air.

  5. Step 5

    Begin Your Career at Delta Air Lines as a Pilot

    After gaining experience as a regional airline pilot, you'll begin your career as a Delta Air Lines pilot.

Prerequisites

To participate in the Delta Propel Program, applicants must be a current ATP Flight Instructor, in good standing, and meet the following requirements:

CFI Career Path:

  • Recommendation from partner flight school
  • Earn an Instrument rating, Commercial certificate, and CFI at the partner flight school (it is permissible to have earned Private outside of the partner school)
  • Must be employed as a CFI and actively instruct at the partner flight school, and be within 12 months of reaching airline hiring minimums
  • First Class Medical (note: it is acceptable if privileges have lapsed to second or third class)
  • Hold or be able to hold a current passport or other travel documents enabling the bearer to freely exit and re-enter the U.S. (multiple re-entry status) and be legally eligible to work in the U.S. (possess proper working documents)
