What is Airline Sponsored Pilot Training? Airline sponsored pilot training is made possible through participation in ATP's Tuition Reimbursement Program, where partner airlines make a financial contribution toward your flight training loan payment.

How to Participate in the Tuition Reimbursement Program

Airlines have selected ATP as a preferred training provider to build their pilot pipelines with the best training in the fastest time frame possible. Here’s how you can take advantage of this program:

  1. Step 1

With airline-oriented, total immersion training from day one, you will graduate from the Airline Career Pilot Program in 9 months (from zero time), earning your Commercial Multi-Engine pilot certificate with Certificated Flight Instructor certificates.

  2. Step 2

After graduating the program, you receive a guaranteed Flight Instructor job with ATP, where you can earn up to $42,000 annually with airline tuition reimbursement and gain the necessary flight experience to reach airline hiring minimums of 1,500 hours.

  3. Step 3

Between 300-500 hours total time, interview with your airline. If you accept the airline's offer, they make a financial contribution toward your loan payment and you make a commitment to fly for that airline. Payments are $5 per flight hour, based on how much flight time you acquire each month.

  4. Step 4

After about 18 months as a flight instructor and with approximately $5,000 in airline tuition reimbursement received, you start new hire class with your airline. $500 monthly payments continue to supplement first-year airline pay for at least 12 months.

Congratulations to these ATP graduates and flight instructors for continuing to advance in their professional pilot careers by joining the Tuition Reimbursement Program.

"My training at ATP helped me tremendously with transitioning into the 121 world. Checklist usage and timing, as well as the decision making that was engrained into me at ATP is expected of all of the 121 training pilots in each Mesa training class...The pace of airline training and ATP were both fast-paced, but very efficient. I was surprised as to how similar the two were...I would highly recommend the Tuition Reimbursement Program to any pilot because of how much financial help it gives you throughout your first year as an airline pilot.

"The $500 a month from the Tuition Reimbursement Program has really helped me financially while starting my career as a First Officer with Mesa. It's great that I'll be able to take home a much larger percentage versus the signing bonuses that most other airlines offer.
