ATP Instructors Recognized by AOPA as Best in Region
October 17, 2019
ATP is honored to announce that AOPA has recognized five instructors as part of the 2019 Flight Training Excellence Awards.
Each year, AOPA surveys the flight training industry and recognizes flight instructors who have made a meaningful impact on the aviation community with their commitment to professionalism and excellence. ATP CFIs represent the most professional instructor group in the industry, and this year, AOPA honored five of these instructors for their positive contribution to the aviation community.
From the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway training center, CFI Academy Standards Instructor, Kinsey Moss, was awarded "Best Flight Instructor" for the western region. After completing the Airline Career Pilot Program in December 2017, Kinsey excelled as a CFI, displaying consistent professionalism as she provided her students with exemplary instruction during their training. After instructing at ATP, Kinsey achieved the next step of her career in the summer of 2019 and now flies as a first officer with Mesa Airlines.
AOPA also honored three ATP instructors from the southern region and one from the western region by recognizing them as "Distinguished Flight Instructors." Lance Larsen, Ryan Medford, Emily Meldrum, and CFI Academy Standardization Manager Todd Shellnutt. Each year, only a select few receive this honor in the Flight Training Excellence Awards. As instructors, Lance, Ryan, Emily, and Todd each worked with extreme diligence, professionalism, and unparalleled instructional knowledge to build a strong and successful foundation for their students' careers.
ATP is incredibly proud of these instructors' accomplishments and contributions, as they set an industry-wide example for professionalism in flight training and model the drive and commitment held by their ATP colleagues.
Congratulations, Kinsey, Lance, Ryan, Emily, and Todd for this achievement!
