ATP Alumni Case Study
Matthew Kolbjornsen
Why Matthew Chose ATP: A large training fleet, dedicated support teams, and the resources to help him progress efficiently.
Finding the Right Fit
The Problem
Finding a faster path toward an airline career.
For Matthew, the path toward aviation began with inspiration from his father, a JetBlue captain.
Seeing firsthand what life as an airline pilot looked like motivated Matthew to pursue the same career. After graduating high school in 2024, he began flight training at a small local flight school.
While the experience helped him get started in aviation, Matthew quickly realized that his training was not progressing at the pace he wanted. Determined to reach his goals as efficiently as possible, he began looking for a program that could provide the resources, structure, and consistency needed to accelerate his training.
Choosing ATP
The Solution
Finding the resources and structure at ATP.
Matthew discovered that ATP Flight School offered a career-focused training program designed to support his development as an aviator.
He chose ATP because of the resources and support available throughout the program, which aligned with his goal of earning his licenses as efficiently as possible.
ATP's fleet of more than 650 aircraft and dedicated teams supporting training, maintenance, flight checks, and student success provided the resources and support structure Matthew was looking for.
Combined with accelerated training, a structured curriculum, and direct airline connections, ATP offered Matthew a clear pathway toward his goal of becoming an airline pilot.
Moving Forward
The Outcome
A focused journey toward the airlines.
For Matthew, ATP transformed a slow-moving training experience into a focused journey toward his dream of becoming an airline pilot.
With the structure, consistency, resources, and airline connections he was looking for, Matthew was able to accelerate his training and continue working toward following in his father's footsteps as an airline pilot.
