ATP Flight School Expands Airline Pilot Training in Ohio with New Locations

Columbus, OH — June 25, 2025

ATP Flight School is expanding its footprint in Ohio with two new training centers, bringing professional airline pilot training to aspiring pilots in Columbus and Akron-Canton. As the nation's leading supplier of airline pilots—and the only flight school partnered with all three legacy airlines—ATP now offers more access to a proven path to the airlines.

These new locations join ATP's existing Cincinnati training center, giving students three convenient options in Ohio to enroll in the Airline Career Pilot Program. This program takes students from zero experience to airline pilot in just two and a half years. Unlike recreational flight schools, ATP offers a career-focused, airline-oriented training path backed by 39 airline hiring partnerships, access to cadet programs, and airline-sponsored tuition reimbursement.

"With industry forecasts projecting a shortfall of over 28,000 pilots by 2030, pilots starting training today with ATP will position themselves ahead of the demand and be able to take advantage of the best competitive offers," said Michael Arnold, Vice President of Marketing, ATP Flight School. "We're excited to expand this opportunity to career-minded pilots in Ohio with increased access to a no-compromise airline career solution that puts them on a proven path to becoming an airline pilot."

Located at Lunken Municipal Airport (LUK), Ohio State University Airport (OSU), and Akron-Canton Regional Airport (CAK), ATP's Ohio training centers give students access to a nationwide network of resources, support teams, examiner availability, and a fleet renowned for its quality, reliability, and safety. ATP invests in more new aircraft each year than most schools have in their entire fleet and leads the industry in maintenance operations, fleet modernization, and safety infrastructure—including real-time flight monitoring and dedicated safety teams.

ATP's Airline Career Pilot Program prepares pilots for airline careers from zero time to 1,500 hours, with CFI jobs and airline employment. ATP also provides type-rating and ATP CTP certification. ATP's 648 aircraft fly over 600,000 hours each year to provide over 13,700 FAA pilot certificates and ratings. As America's largest flight school, ATP is the leading supplier of professionally trained pilots to the nation's regional airlines.
