A New Direction

The Problem

Turning a lifelong interest into a career.

Growing up in Tampa, Florida, Mark spent much of his childhood playing hockey and later worked in the hospitality industry. While aviation had always been in the back of his mind, it wasn’t until later that he decided to turn his interest into a career.

As a kid, he was “always amazed with aviation.” He fondly remembers building model airplanes with his dad and aspiring to become an airline pilot. “Any time we would go on vacations, I would always look up to the pilots and wish I could do the same thing someday,” he recalls.

Over time, that fascination never faded. He found himself constantly wishing he was flying and ultimately decided to pursue a path in aviation. After years on a different professional path, Mark needed a clear and structured way to turn his lifelong interest into a career.

Choosing ATP

The Solution

A clear and structured path at ATP.

His journey began with a discovery flight at ATP Flight School’s St. Petersburg training center, where he immediately felt at home. The professionalism and knowledge of the instructors left a lasting impression, and they were able to answer every question he had about becoming a pilot.

Combined with ATP’s structured curriculum and proven airline pathway, the experience gave him confidence in his decision. “I knew I wanted to train at ATP” after seeing the quality of instruction and the clear outline the program provided.

ATP’s clear, 12-month outline of training, with designated lessons, flights, and access to educational resources, gave Mark the structure he was looking for to take the next step toward becoming a professional pilot.

A Career Takes Flight

The Outcome

A clear path to the flight deck.

For him, ATP offered exactly what he was looking for: a direct and efficient path toward a professional aviation career.

What began as a childhood fascination with airplanes became a clear path toward the flight deck, giving Mark the opportunity to pursue the career he had imagined since he was a kid.
