Career Change

The Problem

Finding a program that could keep up

Growing up in Morristown, New Jersey, Elan attended Rutgers University, where he studied computer science for two years. His interest in aviation started when he was four years old, after his father gifted him and his brother a flight simulator. Elan remembers spending “hours every day learning and flying different planes on the simulator.”

That interest grew even more years later when his brother began working for Boeing as a propulsion engineer. After visiting the Boeing facility, he became “obsessed with learning to fly such a complex machine” and decided to earn his Private Pilot Certificate locally as a trial run.

After completing his training in less than two months, he realized flying was “exactly the career I wanted for the rest of my life.”

With his career goal clear and already progressing quickly through training, Elan needed a program that could keep up with the pace he had established.

Choosing ATP

The Solution

A fast-paced training environment at ATP

Looking for a program that could help him continue progressing at the pace he had already established, he began researching flight schools and eventually found ATP.

During an admissions flight at the Morristown location, he was impressed by the people and the environment. “All the instructors and staff were incredibly friendly and all want to see you succeed,” he says.

ATP offered Elan the fast-paced training environment he was looking for while surrounding him with instructors and staff who were invested in his success.

Program Complete

The Outcome

Continuing his momentum toward a professional career

That experience gave him the confidence that ATP was the right place to continue his training and work toward a career as a professional pilot.

After proving how quickly he could progress through his Private Pilot training, Elan found a program that could match his desired pace and allow him to continue building toward the career he wanted for the rest of his life.
