ATP's instrument instructor rating program adds instrument instructor privileges to your current flight instructor certificate with single-engine privileges. This program provides all necessary ground and flight instruction for tasks required by the Single-Engine Instrument Instructor Airman Certification Standards, including 10 hours single-engine flight time, which includes the use of the aircraft for the checkride are included.

Itinerary

Days 1-2
Check-In
Check-in time is 8:00 a.m. Check-in includes logbook and qualification review and course payment.
Ground Training
Ground training will include a review of the Airman Certification Standards, airplane manuals, and the Piper Archer or Cessna 172 Training Supplement (which should be memorized prior to arrival).
Single-Engine Instrument Instructor Flight Training
8 hours will be allocated to flight training. Simulator (AATD) time may be included, depending on availability.
Days 3-4
Single-Engine Instrument Instructor Flight Training
Continue flight training to reach up to 8 hours.
Day 5
Single-Engine Instrument Instructor Practical Test
Prior to your practical test, your instructor will review your application and paperwork and answer any questions you may have. The oral and flight portion of the practical test will take approximately 5 hours.

Cost & Payment

ATP requires a $495 non-refundable payment to reserve your class date. The remaining balance will be due at check-in.

Acceptable forms of payment are the following: American Express, MasterCard, Discover, Visa. Checks are not accepted.

Designated Pilot Examiner’s Fee

The examiner’s fee is not included in the course cost. This fee ranges from $800 to $1,000 depending on the location and is payable directly to the examiner in cash only.

Training is offered 7 days a week and can be scheduled by calling 904-595-7940, Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM ET.

Important: Name on Pilot Certificate and Knowledge Test Score Report Must Match Exactly

For any checkride requiring an airman knowledge test, FAA computer systems require that the name on your Knowledge Test Score Report exactly match the name on your pilot certificate. This cannot be changed at the time of the checkride. Any name mismatch must be resolved in advance of your training at ATP.
