Foreign Pilot Certificate Holders
If you possess a foreign pilot certificate and wish to obtain an FAA ATP license on the basis of that certificate, you will need to obtain a Letter of Certificate Verification from the FAA. The process is simple, but can take up to 30 days to complete. You can download an application to begin that process. With that letter on file at the appropriate FAA office, you may schedule your ATP Training Program by contacting our admissions office.
If you plan on taking an ATP checkride based on your foreign certificates at our Fort Lauderdale (FXE) location, examiners will expect you to have at least a U.S. Private Pilot certificate in order to act as pilot-in-command during your checkride. This will involve making an appointment at the local FSDO office to obtain. The process won’t take long, but the appointment must be made in advance. The FSDO will not accept walk-ins. Contact our admissions office at 800-ALL-ATPS (800-255-2877 or +1 904 273 3018) or email [email protected] for more information.
