CommutAir has selected ATP as a preferred training provider to build their pilot pipelines with the best training in the fastest time frame possible, offering Airline Career Pilot Program students the following benefits to help offset the cost of paying for flight school.

Tuition Reimbursement

Receive up to $11,000 in airline sponsored financial assistance.

Signing Bonus

When you sign your contract with CommutAir, receive a total signing bonus of $11,100.

The Fastest Path to United

  1. Step 1

    Airline Career Pilot Program

    Begin flight training in the Airline Career Pilot Program.

    United Aviate

    If your goal is to fly for United, apply to join the United Aviate program after earning your private pilot certificate. Aviate through ATP offers you an accelerated path to a career at United with added benefits.

  2. Step 2

    Build Experience as a Flight Instructor

    Become an instructor with ATP's — flight instructor job for Airline Career Pilot Program graduates, where you can fly one of the newest and most reliable fleets, earn airline tuition reimbursement, and build flight experience faster.

  3. Step 3

    Airline Interview & Airline Tuition Reimbursement

    Between 300-500 hours total time, interview with CommutAir. If you accept their offer, they make a financial contribution toward your loan payment and you make a commitment to fly for that airline. Payments are $5 per flight hour, based on how much flight time you acquire each month. If you did not finance your flight training, payments are made directly to you.

  4. Step 4

    Airline Pilot Job Placement

    About two years after starting flight training, and with approximately $5,000 in airline tuition reimbursement received, you start your new hire class with CommutAir. $500 monthly payments continue to supplement first-year airline pay for at least 12 months.

  5. Step 5

    Fly for United

    United Airlines

    Through Aviate, after 2,000 flight hours and 24 months flying as a CommutAir pilot you will be eligible to transition to United. This program will place you at the top of the priority list, and once a first officer position at United is open, you’ll receive a job offer!
