The Most Secure Path to United

  1. Step 1

    Airline Career Pilot Program

    Begin flight training in the Airline Career Pilot Program.

    United Aviate

    If your goal is to fly for United, apply to join the United Aviate program after earning your private pilot certificate. Aviate through ATP offers you an accelerated path to a career at United with added benefits.

  2. Step 2

    Build Experience as a Flight Instructor

    Become an instructor with ATP's — flight instructor job for Airline Career Pilot Program graduates, where you can fly one of the newest and most reliable fleets, earn airline tuition reimbursement, and build flight experience faster.

  3. Step 3

    Airline Interview & Airline Tuition Reimbursement

    Only at ATP, can you earn $19/hr in CommuteAir's Tuition Reimbursement as an instructor!

    ATP instructors can apply and interview for the CommuteAir Cadet Program and if you accept CommuteAir's offer, they make a financial contribution toward your loan payment and you make a commitment to fly for that airline. Receive a $1,000 payment upon signing, and an additional $19 per flight hour from 500 hours total time up to $20,000 based on how much flight time you acquire each month. If you did not finance your flight training, payments are made directly to you.

  4. Step 4

    Airline Pilot Job Placement

    In two years after starting flight training, and with approximately $20,000 in airline tuition reimbursement received while working as a flight instructor, start your new hire class as a First Officer with CommuteAir.

  5. Step 5

    Fly for United

    United Airlines

    Upon acceptance to Aviate, you’ll receive a conditional job offer for a First Officer position with United. After 1,200 hours flying for CommuteAir as a Pilot In Command (PIC), you will be eligible to transition to United.
